Abstract:
Near-optimal solutions to the metric travelling salesperson problem (TSP)  
can be obtained with polynomial complexity by searching along the edges of  
the Tycities’ minimum spanning tree (MST). The work at hand explores this  
well-known approximation heuristic as an Isabelle development. The two main  
procedures used in it have already been formalized, but based on differing  
graph representations; this encourages to also take a look at the  
formalization differences within the available Isabelle libraries on graph  
theory.
