Sorry about that. I believe the solution requires figuring out the
command-line arguments for some calls within the control script.

The lighttpd service can be installed on debian and ubuntu with:
sudo apt-get install lighttpd
It can then be disabled on port 80 with
sudo update-rc.d -f lighttpd remove
update-rc.d lighttpd stop 80 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 .
