As of Isabelle/3444e0bf9261 we are on jdk-8u51, which is the latest "Critical Patch Update" by Oracle. Oracle has had sufficient time to consolidate Java 8 for general use, so we are presumably leaving Java 7 behind and not going back again (there are no public updates of it anymore). Makarius
